With the release of movies like the Lion King, Aladdin, the Jungle Book,  and Mulan, it is no surprise that Disney is continuing to create live action remakes of old favorites.

Released to theaters on May 28, Cruella follows the story of a young Cruella De Vil. Starring Emma Stone as Cruella, Emma Thompson, and Joel Fry, Cruella reveals the origins of one of the most iconic Disney villains.

The movie is set in 1970s London, amidst the punk rock revolution. A young fashion designer named Estella is set on proving her talent and genius and making her mark on the fashion scene, and with the help of two young thieves, she starts gathering fame. When the Baroness Von Hellman (Emma Thompson) discovers her talent, their relationship eventually shapes Estella into the devious Cruella.

This new insight on such a recognizable character has many people going to distanced theaters, or opening up Disney +. While not officially on Disney + until August 27, you can watch it now on premier access.

Directed by Craig Gillespie and a star-studded cast, this reboot is sure to rekindle the love of the original movie while also making its own waves.
